December – MetalTech Systems, Inc. responded to a major construction equipment company casting facility located in the southeastern USA’s request. The facility needed an attrition mill replacement for an existing unit that was not operating efficiently.
In partnership with General Kinematics, MetalTech Systems provided the site modifications, mechanical and electrical installation as well as the new addition of the tramp metal collection and transfer incline conveyor that receives and automatically transfers the tramp metal produced from the attrition process to the customer’s collection hopper.
Installation and start-up occurred over the Christmas holiday shutdown. The new system operates in conjunction with an existing automated chemically bonded cope and drag molding line that produces up to 10 tons per hour of reclaimed sand returned to the system.
